has locator for anyone still in Army. A SSN helps but not required. CLASSMATES.COM has a military option if you know where the person was stationed and about what time they were there. If they have visited the site their name and email will be listed. To check is free. If they are there you must join for a fee in order to contact them. Might be worth a try. Just trying to help.
